What will you tell your grandchildren that you did to protect the environment? I read that question on a billboard on Elgin Street and I couldn’t get the question out of my mind. It makes you think doesn’t it?
The documentary, produced and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, the 11th Hour, arrived in theatres last week in Canada. Pei-ju and I went to see it tonight at the World Exchange.
Actor Leo DiCaprio is the big name on the project but he is barely on screen for less than 10 minutes of the 1 hour and 33 minute film. Scientists, economists, historians, designers and thinkers lend their expert opinions on Global Warming and all things related. I was surprised to listen to Mikhail Gorbachev discussing global warming. Physicist Stephen Hawking and Canadian David Suzuki noteably take part in the dialogue.
In a nutshell, the film examines how humanity impacts the earth’s ecosystems and what we’re doing wrong. Most importantly the film discusses what we can do to change the course we are on.
The 11th Hour affirms what I have been saying all along. Stay informed, Take Action and Go see this movie!
