On Labour Day, the Ottawa Lynx will play their final game against the Syracuse Chiefs, ending the minor-league team’s 15 year duration in Ottawa. I went to one of the three remaining games with Terry today. Fans still have the chance to see them tomorrow and Monday before they board the planes.
This woman, along with many others were surprised that there were lineups half an hour before the first pitch. Although many people were buying, there were still others giving away free tickets. I scooped up a couple of the freebies after waiting in line for a couple minutes.
I haven’t been to a Canadian baseball game in years. And when I used to go to Lynx games I used to sit in the high seats with a bunch of people more interested in drinking than following the action. I admit I would much rather play baseball than watch. Today we sat directly behind the Lynx’s dugout so we were happy to follow the game.
