Jenny’s home was one of the lucky few chosen in Ottawa to be part of a new HGTV renovation show. So you know I’m going to drop by and watch the filming. Actually I’ve gone by twice already to see the progress. Believe me, I wasn’t the only curious one.

Carla was already there when I arrived mid-afternoon. Jen had set up some chairs across the street for viewing. The road was closed at one end for the filming and at the other end for construction. But this didn’t stop the cars or the passerbys from crowding around. One guy asked Carla and I if we needed extras. When we told him that it wasn’t that kind of show, he told us he was just in an independent film. I think he thought we were lying or something. Keep walking buddy.

Another man walked by a wheelbarrow of sawdust and eyed it curiously. He kept on walking and something made him turn around and grab a handfull and smell it. I guess it takes all kinds.
