After a long bus ride for which most of the six hours, I slept and reached Southern Rajasthan. On the way I could see plenty of mountains and lots of green space. I could feel my mood elevating the further we got away from Gujarat. I took a sleeper seat so I was able to spread out my stuff and plan my time in Udaipur.

Now Udaipur is famous for many things. One you might not know is that the James Bond movie Octopussy was partly filmed here. Old Udaipur is bounded by the remains of a wall and this is where most tourists stay. That’s where I am. The city is surrounded by hills and at the centre are the lakes. The most famous is Lake Pichola where many of the sites are. You can see hilltop temples, forts and mosques.

Above all this though Udaipur is famous for being Rajasthan’s most romantic city. Rumor has it that Jude Law was here last week with his new girlfriend. I will agree it is a beautiful city with tons of rooftop restaurants. The scenery is gorgeous and one you would want to share with someone special.
