Picture this. It’s the start of my final class of the day. I had been at the school for eight hours already. I’m tired. The students are tired. None of us wanted to be there. It was going to be a long two hours.
Halfway through the first hour, I looked down from the podium at this lone boy in the front row. He had this strange expression on his face. It struck me as very odd. So I started laughing, and laughing, and laughing. I just couldn’t stop. At the time, a girl was reading so she thought I was laughing at her and stopped reading. Then the whole class became very quiet and all you could hear was me laughing and snorting behind the podium. As much as I tried, I couldn’t stop. The more I tried to calm down, the more I snorted. It was messy. Eventually my laughter became contagious and the class joined in laughing. I’m sure the whole lot of them think I am completely out of my mind. This isn’t the first time this has happened.
I just hope that the girl doesn’t think I was laughing at her.
