I managed to buy my new glasses this morning before my attack. For only 110,000W, I thought I got a good deal. Julie said I paid too much. Maybe I’m missing something. I thought it was pretty reasonable since the frame itself was only 25,000. My eyes are worse than her eyes so it’s probably cheaper and she’s Korean so she probably gets a discount.
Yesterday Sarah took me to the Asian Market store in Sasang. I bought chickpeas and some curry mixes. I’m pretty excited. Last week she gave me a bag of lentils. Just now I finished cooking a big pot of soup. I’m copying Sarah, who does this every week. I just haven’t had the time to do any cooking. Now that I have two days off I can cook as much as I want.
I found this website that sells soy based products here in Korea. This has really excited me. I want to go back to my vegetarian roots. I’ve experienced enough of Korean food culture so it’s time to go back to what I believe in. This means of course that I will never eat out again at a Korean restuarant or trust any snacks that are offered to me. All food in Korea is meat based or it uses meat products, including Kimchi (which uses fish oil or mussels). I don’t understand those people who say they are veggies here and I see them eating fish or kimchi or gummy bears.
It won’t be that easy because I eat a lot of kimbap but I do pick out the egg and ham most of the time. I just need to learn how to say kimbap with no egg and no ham. At this one place I trained the staff to make it just the way I want it. This shouldn’t be that hard to do again. Anyway, I am going to try to cook as much as I can now, if time permits and when I go out with friends I’ll just eat sam bap hold the kimchi.
