It’s Sunday evening and the end of another short weekend. I just got back from a late dinner with Lucy and Fritz at TJI Fridays. I haven’t gone to a Western restaurant in a long time so it was a welcome break from my usual fare.
Lucy and I watched Finding Neverland at a DVD room last night. A DVD room is like your own private cinema. Once you select a movie (there’s tons of new releases to choose from) you are shown to a little room with a coach/bed where you can watch the movie on a big screen. A clerk at the front controls everything. When you need the volume increased or the movie paused, you can use the phone on the wall to call the clerk. Of course you have to speak Korean.
These DVD rooms are everywhere and their popularily is understandable. In fact, a large majority of the Koreans who frequent them go there to have sex, since they live with their parents until they are married.
