But boy am I in a daze. My body wants to shut down for the day but it’s only 330 in the afternoon here. I got in about five hours ago. I just came back to the hostel from a walk around the Viaduct Harbour. Leave it to a Nova Scotian to find water within a 200 yd radius. I would like to take a boat tour of the harbour but I am already beyond my budget for the day, having eaten a few times and bought an accessory for my camera. Maybe tomorrow.
Everything went smoothly today. No big mishaps or problems. But I did have my backpack searched at Auckland airport. Immigration thought I had some suspicious, round looking object in my bag. I think they thought it was an apple. It turned out to be body creme. They are so anal about food and mud in this country. They also took my hiking boots and washed them down. No, they weren’t muddy or anything. I did wash them before I left. Really, I did.
On another note, I can tell that I have been away from an English speaking country for too long. A few times I was slow in responding to someone speaking to me in my native tongue. It’s so odd to hear English spoken everywhere and no Korean! Also, I don’t know if they live here or are travellers like me but the men here are hot!
Before I forget, I was walking around trying to find something to eat and the first restaurant I see is a Korean one. Kimchi gigae was $25.
