Exploring wasn’t cancelled in 2020, here’s my partial new-to-me summit list

I know it’s only been really cold for like two days but I am already longing for summer’s warm embrace.

In fact I already started making my list of mountains to summit in the spring/summer. I mean I could hike a few of them this winter but here’s the thing … I don’t like the even remote possibly of getting hypothermia when I take my gloves off to take a picture or when I am trying to discreetly pull up my pants after taking a pee behind a tree.

Nope that having it. I like spending time taking pictures and enjoying the view. That’s not happening when it’s -30 with the wind chill. Short runs/hikes will have to do.

Anyway …. maybe you’re thinking about summer too? Maybe you’re making your own list? To help you along a little, I am sharing with you a partial list of my new-to-me summits and (almost) summits from 2020.

Wasootch Ridge in May 2020 with friend Barry

Last year I really wanted to explore as many new-to-me places as possible. I haven’t lived this close to the mountains that long so everything is pretty much new territory to me.

One good thing about COVID – I didn’t have the pressure of any races in the back of my mind so I was up for just about anything. My list for 2021 is growing every day. I hope you will find some inspiration to stay active this winter and create your list for 2021.

  1. Great list! I’m adding some of yours to my already long list of planned runs 🙂
Agreed about the cold. It’s not fun for us girls to take a pee in this Arctic cold haha
