Snack this way: Three Works Apple Chips

I used to pick apples in the Annapolis Valley on Sundays to make a few bucks when I was a kid. I love apples especially Macintosh and Spartan – perfect fruit! Sliced apple and peanut is still one of my favourite afternoon snacks!

Besides … an apple a day keeps the doctor away .. or so they say.

When I was given the chance to try Three Works Apple Chips, I jumped at the chance. They sounded so appealing! I am not one for buying “fruity” snacks  but I love snacking and apples so how could I lose?
I opened my Three Works Apple Chips package at the office because I knew a group of reporters would not hold back on their opinions. (Plus bringing food into the office makes you a very popular person that day.)

How much sugar?

How many calories?

What are the flavours?
Are they healthy?
What are the ingredients?
Leave it to a bunch of reporters to completely ruin my tasting experience. I was hungry so I just wanted to rip into the first Pringles-like container and start snacking. Holding back I read the label.

Three Works Apple Chips:

  • Fat Free
  • Gluten Free
  • Non-Fried
  • No Added Sugar
  • 100 calories
  • Made with Fuji Apples
  • All natural ingredients
I had six flavours to sample – Cinnamon, Mixed Berry, Cherry Love, Mango, Original and Caramel.
I am not a big sweet person so I was immediately drawn to the Cinnamon flavour. Apple and cinnamon is one the great food pairings in my book! Crunchy and crisp were my first thoughts. I could taste the cinnamon with every bite. Yum!
I moved onto the other flavours. Cherry Love and Mixed Berry were way too sweet for me. I didn’t mind the Caramel or the Mango. Original was good but I felt it needed a little more zing.  One of my coworkers took home some of the Cherry Love apple chips for his children. He said they would love them.
My verdict? I’m giving Apple Chips two big thumbs up. I may be reaching for these snacks the next time I am looking for a crunchy guilt free snack. I like that they are not too pricey either. Pick them up at your local supermarket if you are looking for a new snack.

Have you tried Three Works Apple Chips? What’s your favourte crunchy snacks?
