Why did you start running?
For the exercise, joined a boot camp with a friend and running was part of it.

What motivates you to run? I love to run, I love the freedom, the fresh air the amazing feeling I get when I run especially the long runs. The beautiful sunshine motivates me to run, and when I am feeling sluggish and feel like its nap time, then is a good time to run.

Best running moment: My proudest moment was when I crossed the finish line at the ING New York Marathon in 2011. I cried…..it felt amazing to me that I Audrey Cann could run a marathon, it was my first and I loved every second of it. Running has taught me to reach for the stars so to speak, push myself out of my comfort zone and I can accomplish things I thought were impossible.

Advice for new runners: Running is fun, it is also very personal. You run at your own level don’t worry about how fast or slow or how much anyone else runs. It’s all about your own trail and how you want to run it. Start slow let your body get used to how you are using your muscles and don’t forget to rest. Set some small goals to stay focused but make sure to set the big one too – the one you really want and the one you really need to work for and way out of your comfort zone. The rewards will be great. When I run a race, I love to have my family at the finish line cheering me on. But it’s really great to have someone run the race with you that knows what you are going through and to share the challenges and rewards. Good times.
